Server hardware problem |

 e regret to inform you that we had a short downtime today due to a hardware failure of our server system. The problem has been already solved. Moreover, no game world has been reseted. Please note that we cannot compensate any losses in the game caused by the disconnection.

New worlds Solera and Titania |

|
|
 oday we started two new game worlds: Solera and Titania. They are normal game worlds with enabled player vs. player combat. Solera's server is located in America and Titania's server is located in Germany. During the next days only premium players are allowed to enter the new worlds. To keep the number of characters on Rookgaard on a reasonable level, the maximum number of players is limited as well. In a few days we will raise the limit and also allow free account players to join.

Update of the Tibia client to version 7.24 |

|
 fter the test period has been finished successfully a new minor update of the Tibia client is now available. You will automatically receive a patch for your client to the new version at the next login. If this process does not work, you can download the complete new version here.
The update includes a few new features. The party mode replaces the old duel mode. To get more details about this change please read carefully the new manual pages about player killing and the party mode. Please note that there is now an automatic banishment for
excessive killing of characters who are not marked with a "skull".
Players who reach twice the amount of unjustified kills that are needed to get a red skull will be banished or deleted automatically. Finally, there are several minor changes on the map of Tibia. For example now you can rent some new houses and solve new quests.
Beside the update of Tibia we want to announce that there are several new gamemasters who will watch over Tibia. Please see this list if you want to know who the current gamemasters are. We will soon ease the work of the gamemasters by reforming the banishment system. Just keep an eye on the news for more details about the next coming updates.

Test server for minor update |

|
e have improved the player killing mark system (skulls), which was introduced with the Christmas Update. A public test server is now running, so that you can test the changes. The official update, also including several new quests, will take place in the next days.
A new party mode replaces the old duel mode (green skulls). By right-clicking other characters and selecting invite to party, you can invite them to your party. They can accept your invitation by right-clicking your character and selecting join XXX's party. The inviting player becomes the leader
of the party and all joining invitees will become members of the party. Players within the same party all have the green skull, allowing them to attack each other without consequences. You can leave the party when you're allowed to logout (no logout-block) by right-clicking yourself and selecting leave party. When the party leader leaves the party, the leadership will be automatically forwarded to the oldest member of the party. Additionally you can always pass your leadership to any member of the party by right-clicking a member and selecting pass leadership. All party-states of the characters are indicated by a small shield-symbol beside the character:
golden shield = this character is leader of your party;
blue shield = this character is a member of your party;
white/golden shield = this character invites you to his party;
white/blue shield = this character has been invited to your party,
but hasn't accepted yet.
Another improvement is that whenever a skull is about to vanish it
flashes for about 5 seconds. During this time the skull is still
valid/active, but you know that it will be gone in a moment.
Please note that there is now an automatic banishment for
excessive unjustified player killing. Players who reach twice the
amount of unjustified kills that are needed to get a red skull, will
be banished automatically for 15 days.
We invite you to join the public test. To do so, please make a copy of your Tibia folder (you won't be able to login at the official server with the new version!), execute the copied Tibia file, check the option Test Server Login in the network preferences, and login. Then you will receive a patch for your client. If this automatic update doesn't work for you, you can also download the complete
version 7.23.
The player data were taken from the backup of March 5th, so you will perhaps have to use your old password. All quest doors have been locked, so you won't be able to solve any quests. Please report all errors you detect to a tutor, counsellor, or gamemaster.

Recent banishments due to cheating |

|
|
large number of players have been banished during the past few days because we have found definite evidence that they have been using cheat tools. We would ask any of those players not to contact us because of this. The banishments may be tough, but they are entirely justified because the use of cheat tools is a serious violation of Tibia rules §3 c and d. For this reason we will not lift or reduce any of the banishments imposed for the use of cheat tools during the last few days.
Also, we would like to underline the fact that we have not simply banished the accounts to punish a rule violation. In fact, the players have been banished for their own protection. We have found that the used cheat tool was designed to hack its users, so all concerned accounts were under serious threat of being hacked! The maker of the tool has made sure he could easily request the account data by using a backdoor in the program. This is the reason why many players have recently been hacked.
Please understand that any illegal software that modifies or enhances the official client may contain a backdoor to open up your account to hackers. All Tibia players who are using such software should remove this software immediately and change their passwords at once! Please note that neither a virus scanner nor a firewall will be able to protect your account if somebody is hacking you via a modified client.

Security warning |

 ue to a recent rise in hacking activity we would like give you some additional security hints. Please read them carefully.
 You should always keep in mind one general rule: Never give your password and account number to anybody! Regardless of what people may tell you nobody ever needs to know them, even we at CipSoft never will ask for your password. If we should need information on your account data we will just ask you for the name of one of your characters - that will always be enough for us.
You should be wary if you meet somebody who claims to be a member of CipSoft or a gamemaster. Don't let yourself be fooled by official-looking email addresses such as cip@tibia.com. Even though this is our official address you should remember that senders can easily be faked. It is possible that a hacker has done so in order to gain your trust.
Please note that CipSoft does not use messenger services such as MSN or ICQ. If somebody contacts you via such a messenger service claiming he is a member of CipSoft you can safely assume that he is trying to trick you. As a rule, please note that the use of messenger services may pose a security risk. If you want to use MSN or some other messenger service you should use different email addresses for your Tibia account and for the respective service you are using.
So-called hack sites are especially popular among account thieves. Hackers set up fake websites where they offer free items, cheat tools, tips on quests, surveys on Tibia etc. Unfortunately, the only goal of such websites is to ruin your account. Be extremely careful about all links, because a simple click on such a link may be enough to have your account hacked!
Please remember to update your computer system regularly. A number of important security updates have been released lately by Microsoft. Please use the update function of your Windows system to install them on your computer. Also, due to certain security risks it is a good idea to deactivate the Internet Explorer and to use other common web browsers such as Mozilla, Opera or the Netscape Navigator instead.
Finally, we advice you to read also our updated security hints so you can prevent any harm to your account.
